Like most groups with a genuine interest in the future excellence of medical training and the health service, we welcome the Tooke report

Summary

• Fidelio welcomes the proposals of the Tooke Report.

• Our detailed comments are limited to the manpower issues, and the problems of the 2007 intake.

• Possible partial solutions are suggested for each of these.

• Most important is that the medical profession unites behind the final Tooke proposals; we will never agree on everything, but could ballot to show overwhelming support for implementation.
